Island Acupuncture and Herbs
Owned and Operated by Dr. Elin Bjarnason Reg. PT, Dr. TCM, Island Acupuncture and Herbs is a full service Chinese Medicine Clinic located in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The clinic offers acupuncture, herbal therapy, craniosacral therapy, auriculotherapy and wellness counseling. Special interests are in joint and bone ailments, birthing and fertility, women's health, immune system dysfunction, infectious diseases and chronic illness.
Dr. Elin Bjarnason Reg. PT, Dr. TCM
Elin is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Dr. TCM), a Registered Physical Therapist (Reg. PT) and has an extensive health care background. She graduated from the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2002 and obtained her Physiotherapist Degree from the University of Manitoba in 1986. Elin currently shares her time between her clinic and as a Director of Care in the Vancouver Island Health Authority.
With over 23 years of experience as a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Physiotherapist and Health Care Manager, Elin brings a deep knowledge of wellness, illness and the healing benefits of both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine.

All practitioners at Island Acupuncture and Herbs are independent practitioners who are solely responsible for their own practices.

Dr. Nancy Issenman, Dr. TCM
Nancy Issenman is a registered Doctor of TCM having completed her studies in San Francisco in 1986. She has been an instructor and clinical supervisor at the Canadian College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine in Victoria since 1990. She is a founding member of Birthpoint Acupuncture Group which provides acupuncture services throughout pregnancy, labour and post-partum.

Maria Laslop, BScN, MN, RN, RTCMP
Maria Laslop is a Registered Acupuncturist, a Registered Chinese Herbalist, and a Registered Nurse in the province of British Columbia. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1990 and a Master of Nursing in 1997. She subsequently went on to study Traditional Chinese Medicine and graduated from the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine with a four year Diploma of Chinese Medicine.
With over 20 years as a health care professional and a broad knowledge base in both western and eastern medicines, Maria offers a unique approach toward health and healing for her patients. Maria holds special interest in the areas of gynecology, fertility enhancement, pregnancy and obstetrical care, and internal medicine.
